Criminal Minds : Worst bike lane offenders in New York City [BUDWEISER]

If you ask someone who consitently commutes in NYC bike lanes who some of the worst bike lane obstructors are, you will get a lot of similar answers. “Taxi drivers, livery cabs for sure”. Taxis and livery cabs do contribute alot of violations to the issue of bike lane obstruction, but the number of violations and amount of bike lane area they block with their vehicles is nothing compared to bigger trucking companies with drivers who are often too lazy to find legal parking, even if it’s right next to the bike lane.

In New York City, few companies can rival the local Anhesuer Busch brooklyn and Long Island City warehouses. They send out some of the most careless drivers in the city. You can find them angled into the 8th Avenue bike lane almost every day in some of the strangest parking patterns in the metropolitan area. Some of these trucks look like they were crashed and left abandoned in the bike lanes around the city. Other drivers are beyond careless, completely obstructing crosswalks, bike lanes, and traffic lanes.

Budweiser also offers no simple recourse for reporting drivers in the metropolitan area who put cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists at risk.

  • @ Douglas :

Are you serious? Can you see the photo? Plenty of space for parking. Early morning hours.

Typical, obama whiners posting on my site about shit they clearly don't understand.
  • Ah! The truckers are the bad people for sustaining life.

Now if we can only make the masses go away we can have a fantasy like the movie the Day After Tomorrow with a Manhattan sustainable without truck deliveries were the super wealthy do not have to deal with the visual pollution of such ilk!
  • Mitchell, you know nothing about what it's like to commute by bike in this city, so please reserve comment until you've tried one day to keep safe in the bike lanes around here, and had to deal with lazy ass drivers like the one pictured above.
